Career Academy ExperienceNorbar Torque Tools Ltd. Feb 2011 - Mar 2011Banbury, England, GbDuring my Sixth Form, I took part in the Career academy programme. This included a 3 week Internship working at Norbar Torque Tools. Whilst at the company they were planning a large internal move of some of the production lines to another location not too far away. This obviously took a lot of planning and I am glad that the work that i completed there, not only helped but to my knowledge is still being used in some way or another. The work that I undertook was to code each piece of equipment and machinery using a coding system created by myself and two members of staff. This code included, the department of which it was used, the type of machine or equipment, and its specific number.These codes were then entered into a log on excel - also created during my time at the company. This log included information about the equipment including its dimensions, the code and its use within the company. The dimensions were requested by Norbar as they wanted to be able to plan the layout / floor plan at the new location. Because of this, they wanted to see whether the data i collected was any good, therefore I created images of Microsoft Visio for each individual piece of equipment. Then entering them into a scale floor plan of the department. I would like to take this time to thank Norbar for this experience as I met some very interesting and knowledgable people who have real life experience. I hope to use the skills I developed at Norbar throughout my working career.
