In my role at Cadbury I am the DDSL and the only F/T person within this role here at the College including during College half terms. We have over 2200 students on role and it is my responsibility that all of these students and staff are kept safe and free from possible harm. Since I started over a year ago I have been responsible for ensuring that all college staff are trained in Safeguarding including all new updates on KCSIE and how to log any events onto CPOMS. It has been my responsibility to lead on LADO reports and various Children’s Safeguarding Trusts to ensure our students are kept safe and follow these up with meetings such as STRATS when requested. I have also taken on responsibility for Counselling and allocation of slots. I have great communication with the Trusts overall Safeguarding Lead and weekly feedback to the Leadership Team. As the current Lead for Enrichment which is something that I have volunteered to do in order to support the students gain a fuller experience of College life I run the Student Council and all other Enrichment activities such as Sports, Arts etc. Whilst at Cadbury College I organised the first prom that the College had held for over 10 Years and I am currently planning the second of these for this year. I am part of the Collegiate wide (Sandwell Trust) groups supporting Equality Diversity and Inclusion, LQBTQIA+ and Sustainability groups across all sites.

My role at Light Hall involved looking after the daily welfare of the students. During my Final year at Lighthall I was responsible due to absence for the safeguarding and behaviour of both the Yr 9 / 11 cohorts supporting the 500+ students within these. I am the Safeguarding Lead within the house and year, including case conferences, core groups, LAC and PEP meetings. On a day to day basis I am responsible for behaviour, isolation rooms, attendance and punctuality and after school detentions. I am the first point of contact for students and parents and liaising accordingly with the appropriate staff members and Leadership Team

Ark Boulton Secondary School (Previously Golden Hillock) – As a Pastoral Year Leader, I was required to work closely with the Assistant Head in running the year group. This included, carrying out the management of Form Tutors and taking the lead for Parent’s Evenings. Whilst here I was also given the responsibility of creating and delivering year group assemblies. I also had the opportunity to lead a residential visit to Wales, taking a group of students on a week-long visit to Snowden. This was part of a specific programme aimed at modifying the behaviour of disaffected students. As part of the preparation for this endeavour, I attained my mini-bus driving license.
