James Borbone Email and Phone Number
I am currently employed as the Manager - Business and Property Service for Wingecarribee Shire Council (WSC). In this role I oversee the management and strategic operation of properties, tourism and events, outside of school hours childcare, animal shelter, sales yards, and swimming pools. This is a diverse role providing facilities and services to the residents of the Wingecarribee Shire. Prior to working for WSC I was employed as the National Head of Camps for The Outdoor Education Group (OEG) responsible for the operational management of OEG owned camps nationally. In this role I prided myself on building strong teams and driving positive organisational culture.I was previously employed as an Area Manager with Belgravia Leisure overseeing both Moss Vale and Bathurst Aquatic Centres. This was an enjoyable role working with regional communities in NSW.Before moving to the Southern Highlands of New South Wales I spent 9 happy years at Macquarie University across two main roles. As a Project Coordinator I designed, developed, implemented and administered new programs for MQ Sport and the wider University. This included the award winning MQ staff wellness program - Warriors@Work - which had the implicit aim of augmenting existing provision of health and fitness programs for staff - administration and faculty - of MQ, by developing a measurable, settings-based health promoting framework.Prior to taking parental leave I was employed as the Manager - Sport Programs at MQ Sport. This entailed management of MQ Sport and Aquatic Centre including health club, swim school, gymnastics club, group fitness program and all other programs and activities that occurred within the venue.I have been fortunate to act as a consultant with Sport and Leisure Solutions providing advice and assistance to venues in the sport and leisure industry and had the opportunity to work on numerous leisure and aquatic new build and renovation projects. I consider my greatest strength to be leadership highlighted by my time in the British Army. I graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served as an Officer in the The Light Infantry for 5 years completing operational tours to Sierra Leone and Iraq.I have been a Director on the Board of the Royal Lifesaving Society NSW since 2016 and am proud to be a contributor to the industry that I enjoy working in.I recently complete an MBA through the Australian Institute of Management.
