- Responsible for all the bank's IT infrastructure in Malta, UK and Belgium.- Managing Systems and Database Teams.- Procurement of all IT equipment and services, and negotiation of all managed IT support SLAs with third party suppliers and providers.- Documentation of all Business Continuity Plans to cater for a vast array of incident scenarios to make sure the bank returns to business as usual in as little time as possible.- Overseeing periodical disaster recovery simulations and transferring operation to alternate site as well as separate systems and data recovery from tape restores.- Member of IT Security committee responsible to document and keep up-to-date specific and detailed policies and overseeing that all parts of document is well implemented on all the bank's infrastructure.- Managed Project to implement a new datacentre in Belgium, identifying and procuring all servers, storage and network devices. Overseeing and hands-on systems design, configuration and installation. Assisting in identification of a suitable co-hosting datacentre in Belgium.- Managed Project to migrate our primary site datacentre. During this migration also took oportunity to replace our core network switches. Overseeing and hands-on configuration and setup of new datacentre, planing for migration schedule and business continuity.

Managing the Bank's Core and Treasury IT Infrastructure.

My main duties were mainly on the Integrated Utilities Business System (IUBS) project as System Administrator on UNIX(AIX), Windows and LINUX(RedHat); AIX LPAR and ESXi VMware as well as Tivoli and Cacti Systems monitoring, administration and development.I am indebted to Mr. Denis Vella, for investing time and confidence in my professional development; a person who I consider to be my mentor.

My duties included System Administration on SunOS platforms, on Sybase databases and Netrac systems monitoring administration and development.

My duties were to develop and maintain IVR applications which revolved around an Oracle database. During this time I greatly enhanced my skills on Oracle, including pl/sql, administration, functions, stored procedures (including java stored procedures), warehousing and hetrogenous connectivity to other database brands.I was responsible for the original database design as well as twice upgrade from Oracle8i to Oracle9i and to Oracle10g, including dataguard setup, backup and recovery.
