This position is responsible for the direction of all product engineering, new product development, applications engineering and engineering services. My primary responsibility is to provide strong technical leadership, direction, guidance and training / mentoring to the engineering departments of each Brand Team, and propel new product development with a sense of urgency in order to fuel company growth. I worked in Partnership with the Vice President of each Brand Team.

* - Investigate and recommend acquisition candidates. * - Provide loss prevention advice and services on complex product liability matters by defining the company’s obligation, its responsibility, and recommending highly creative solutions. * - Determine intellectual property strategy and implement it. * - Direct the use, disposal, and compliance reporting of hazardous materials (HAZMAT). * - Direct and facilitate the Controlled research and development, design and sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, technical publications, document control, prototype build facility, and drill test. * - Directed a three-year product development cycle resulting in the release (using CM criteria) of 22 machines.* - Improved on-time completion of engineering projects to 95 percent.* - Curbed warranty expenditure to approximately one half percent of sales.* - Decreased scrap and rework expense to approximately one half percent of sales.

* - Co-founder of Drill Concepts Inc.* - Engineered, designed and introduced two distinct models in seven months.* - Directed production of six machines over a four-month period.* - Guided product costing of prototype and production units to target.* - Introduced performance driven team building into engineering structure.

* - One of seven people that founded Driltech Inc.* - Managed the engineering department, which supported annual sales of over 20 million dollars. * - Directed and participated in the engineering of over 20 machines and models. * - Created and implemented engineering and manufacturing design standards.* - Introduced CAD/ CAM and other design systems.
