Creating new ideas and problem-solving are two of the fundamental tools I bring with me into every situation. In my downtime, I enjoy collecting and constructing with LEGO, as well as building decks and playing the Magic: The Gathering card game. I love the intricacies of relationships between materials and objects, learning how everything works, and enjoying fixing them when they don't.Being a graduate of the Photonics Engineering Technology Advanced Diploma program at Niagara College, I have had a diverse experience from femtosecond lasers, to Imaging, to fibre optics. My greatest experience from college was having the opportunity to spend the summer of 2017 working for Raytheon ELCAN Optical Technologies. While there, I was able to dip my toes into the advanced world of thin film technology. My time spent at FiberTech Optica has been a very valuable experience. I have gained so much knowledge about project processes and troubleshooting issues in a hands-on way. I consider myself one of the lucky few to gain such experiences directly out of college. I have gone from an amateur to a self-reliant project manager to a co-op student supervisor in less than 4 years. I was a part of projects from the design phase to prototype construction, then testing, data analysis, and troubleshooting.I am excited for my journey at Conestoga College, extending my knowledge into the world of power systems, and working towards my engineering bachelor's degree. After being introduced to powering lasers and LEDs in my previous diploma and work experience, I am looking forward to delving deeper into the topic of power, and I have already learned a lot in my short time at Conestoga. I have already become well-versed in the development and operation of transformers, and I know this is only the beginning.I have learned much over the past few years, and I look forward to many more valuable experiences in the years to come.
