Coordinated startup activities and corrected design deficiencies for the variable frequency drives. This was a $900M project to enable efficient low load operation of a super-critical steam generating unit.Prepared and presented technical paper for the Plant Design & Operating Committee. Paper described events that lead to the catastrophic failure of a 3700 hp motor for a 547,000 cfm forced draft fan. A maintenance description and failure analysis were performed and outlined. Paper was presented at a conference of southwestern utility company delegates.Designed Square-D programmable control system to replace a timer/relay control system on a 900-gallon per minute water demineralization system. This was a $75M project to improve efficiency and reduce control system maintenance. I developed all of the control logic and produced AutoCAD drawings to support the project.Project Lead for Boiler Feed Pump Turbine Exhaust Surface Condenser ($100M project). Specified project scope for replacement of corroded carbon steel members with stainless steel material. Inspected the vendor’s shop for quality assurance during fabrication.
