The project is hosted by the Linux Foundation and draws from the experience of both academia and industry. My Responsibilities:- Construct metrics used to evaluate the diversity and inclusion within open source software.- Evaluate the toxicity of speech on online support forums and mailing lists.

Oberd is a medical software tool that allows physicians and medical professionals to easily collect data pertinent to patients and patient reported outcomes. These data are then readily available in a digital format allowing physicians to spend more time making decisions that will better the health and well-being of their patients. Our digital forms are designed to engage patients in order to increase compliance along with the accuracy of the data. This includes actively researching novel methods for reducing form length (Computer Adaptive Testing) along with other techniques that allow physicians to better care for their patients.My Responsibilities:- Lead algorithm engineering for new machine learning applications while working closely with client relation and software development teams for that application. - Develop data pipelines that involve automating all stages of data-centered projects including data carpentry, manipulation and transformation as well as model development, training and deployment. - Create meaningful visualizations to communicate algorithm performance along with patient outcome trends.- Designed and implemented a hybrid regression tree/k-nearest neighbors model for reducing the number of questions patients have to answer on patient reported outcome forms. The algorithm successfully decreases the number of questions by 40% to 60% while maintaining high performance (r-squared > 0.98).

The Data Science & Analytics Program is an online Master's degree that focuses on teaching students the current tools and techniques of data science. This involves hands-on lessons which teach mathematical and statistical concepts along with programming techniques in Python and R and relational database and NoSQL technologies. Students are guided in the development of major data intensive projects while relying on the skills they learned throughout their program including a case study and a final capstone upon the completion of their degree. My Responsibilities:- Write and develop curriculum designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of data science including learning Python, R, SQL and statistical analysis.- Aid in advising students on their final capstone projects who are interested in neural network implementation and computational linguistic techniques.- Facilitate discussions on discussion boards and foster understanding through the use of relevant examples and holding regular office hours.
