As a sole trader, I take on a variety of contracts from design and photography to video and motion graphics projects. I will often work remotely but do travel to meet clients or work in-house as the contract requires. Most recently, following the success of my fixed-term contract with them, I worked freelance for James Galt shooting video on-site and then combined working remotely and in-house to deliver the projects. The projects involved shooting a couple of videos for Galt, the first was a detailed product video examining a £3000 model ship of the Cutty Sark. The company was relaunching an international product for a UK audience and wanted to be able to show off the product in detail to potential clients without risking the valuable asset at international tradeshows. The video contained very detailed and closeup shots roving over the extent of the ship to show off the exquisite detail that is present on the model. This allowed senior management and the wider sales team to effectively market the new product. The second video was for a new product to the company that was rebranded from the international parent company and launching in the UK. It was a toy designed to aid children in learning to draw and involved an actor demonstrating the product in an easy to understand way and had to appeal to a wide audience, from the children it was aimed at to the adults who needed to see the value and learning potential of the product.
  • Galt Toys
    Video Editor And Graphic Designer
    Galt Toys Dec 2018 - Jan 2020
    Cheadle, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom
I am well versed with editing and animating in Premiere Pro and After Effects. Premier Pro is my go-to editing software and been using it for years. For Galt I shot, and edited pieces as varied as product videos on location with adult and child models, to product explainer videos with a detailed examination of the product. I also produced an extensive series of 2D animated product highlights. These combined video and stop motion animation with motion graphics elements created in Illustrator or natively in After Effects. I have experience using Cinema 4D Lite as I used this to digitally remove logos and foreign language text from products in existing product videos and replace them with new branding. Without my initiative in developing my skills to utilise Cinema 4D in this way, this project would not have been possible, as product samples were not available in the UK to shoot new videos.I am a skilled photographer who has experience setting up and running a photography studio including purchasing and setup of all necessary camera, lighting, and rigging equipment. I was Galt’s in-house photographer and produced and edited the photography for posters, catalogues, and brochures, as well as for deployment online for the company website and for Amazon as part of their A+ content. I processed and edited my photography using Lightroom and Photoshop, both programs that I have considerable experience with. I would very often devise the initial idea for a given project and when I was presented with a more fixed brief it would be my responsibility to work the concept into a fuller presentation. To that end I created detailed storyboards for both video and animation work and would hand draw my graphics in rough to visualise a project for early presentation and approval. My creative work is of a proven high standard, on Amazon alone, my work drove a 5-8% increase in clickthrough and conversion when compared with the same products without my content deployed.
  • Stuff And Nonsence Ltd
    Video Producer
Stuff And Nonsence Ltd Oct 2018 - Nov 2018
    Lon Capel, Gwaenysgor, Eversleigh, Wales
I worked with Andy Clarke to help translate his latest book into an online video course for Skillshare.com and similar sites. I worked with Andy to make the script shoot ready, storyboarded the concepts to help with visualisation of the brief, scouted out an appropriate location and dressed the set, filmed, and edited the 10-part course. I was brought onboard the project because Andy had no experience with video work and his personal attempts at translating his book into a video course were not at a level that he was comfortable presenting to his audience. I was able to bring my skills to the table and translate his book into an exceptional and engaging course that more than met the extremely high standards Andy had envisioned for the project. The course currently has over 2500 students on SkillShare, 43% ‘exceeded expectation’ rating, and the course is a “Staff Pick” on the site. The course was marketed at designers and other creatives so needed to have a high level of polish and to be visually appealing. To achieve this, I paid careful attention to every detail of the production. This included custom motion graphics to better illustrate on-screen points, with each graphic being carefully designed in Photoshop before implementation. I animated the titles using a combination of After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Blockpool Limited
    Graphic Designer
    Blockpool Limited Aug 2018 - Sep 2018
    Online
I worked for Blockpool on two separate projects on a couple of their brands: Aurovine and Audiocoin. These were graphic design and photo manipulation projects for promotional and general release. The projects were to help support the rebranding of Aurovine and to support promotional efforts around the sister site, Audiocoin. I liaised with their Sales and Marketing manager before starting the project to ensure a clear brief was set. I sourced all the photography using numerous image library sites ensuring that all imagery would be appropriate for commercial use and that it would be impactful under deployment. I edited the photos in Photoshop and created or applied supplied graphics where appropriate to create the desired effect. The images I created were deployed in a variety of ways including banners, email invitations and campaigns, and were used for promotional release to various media outlets. This project came in ahead of schedule and under budget.

Marks And Spencer Apr 2012 - Jul 2018

I have strong interpersonal skills which were essential when managing a large team. The ability to form strong relationships quickly with new individuals I met helped me to gain the support of my team allowing me to achieve more than my counterparts. I progressed within the role, managing several busy departments, from catering and hospitality to the management of the food hall. This gave me a very flexible mindset with the ability to prioritize and concentrate on frequently changing priorities both for myself individually and in the context of the team.As a Section Coordinator, I was integral to the training and integration of new starters providing a point of reference for them and feedback on their progress to the senior management team. Once this acclimation was completed, I was in charge of managing peak workloads making sure that the teams, and my own time, was well spent.Due to my strong IT skills, I handled the storewide implementation and training for the company’s payment and rostering systems. Within the role, I liaised with all managers in the store to monitor their compliance with company regulations managing numerous concurrent assignments, using my initiative to pre-empt and head off issues before they arose. I reported my findings directly to the store manager preparing reports accurately whilst under pressure, with minimal supervision. As part of my role as a Section Coordinator, I was the first point of call for inquiries made in person or via the telephone. I worked for Marks and Spencer for a good number of years and was well versed in customer service, dealing with multiple customers and their queries.
