My name is James Cherico and I am a recent graduate of Boston University with a bachelor's degree in Film and Television Production. I currently work various freelance production jobs in film, TV, live events, concerts, and theatre. My interest in production began in high school, when I became heavily involved in technical theater. During this time I discovered that I loved the role of the stage manager. I loved being able to immerse myself in all elements of production as the liaison between director, cast, and crew. I am very logistically minded and have strong communication and organization skills that lend themselves to the kinds of tasks I became familiar with during my time as a stage manager. At BU, most of my time on set was for scripted television episodes or for narrative independent films, but I am interested in learning about all genres and styles of production for the screen.I recently finished my senior thesis film, a 20 minute narrative family drama filmed on location in a rental property on Cape Cod. Producing this piece was an incredibly valuable experience that gave me confidence in my ability to bring stories on the page into reality. I have also worked as a production assistant at Schrom, a tabletop food commercial studio where I worked with industry professionals in food videography.The honor of giving creative and talented people a space to showcase their vision and working intensively toward one shared goal provides a sense of purpose and accomplishment for me that has been unmatched in any other part of my life.
