Colby is a passionate and dedicated artist, curator, and cultural creative collaborating with exceptional artists, partners, and patrons. The Joseph Bellows Gallery, La Jolla, CA represents his photography. He studied at the University at Buffalo (MFA) with Blumberg, Fish, Georgiou, and Lyons (SUNY/UB Visual Studies Workshop). CURRENT WORK: Material, Ethereal Constructs (422now.com) and working as a coach/advocate for the Mechum Duo (Aaron and Boaz).PAST PROJECTS: Pillar of Light: An Earth Day Revival and Community Sculpture Project and EcoTopographics: Co-creating a Personal, Sustainable Vision. Curating B. Proud’s “First Comes Love” and “Transcending Love” presentations for St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. SERVICE: Co-founder of the GreenUp Jamestown Coalition (GUJC) and St. Luke’s Wellness Initiative with The Reverend Luke Fodor. Chair, Braw Caddie Clan Scholar-Athlete Excellence Award Committee, administered by Chautauqua Region Community Foundation (CRCF) and in collaboration with the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame. Colby curated over 150 interdisciplinary exhibitions, integrating musicians, poets, writers, and scholars. He founded the Global Collection of Photography and Museum Without Walls to serve diverse communities. NOTABLE, FINAL EXHIBITIONS: "Andy Warhol: Acquisitions and Nexus," "Robert Hirsch's The Sixties Cubed: Signs, Symbols, and Celebrities," Barbara Proud's "First Comes Love: Radical Spirits, Civil Rights, and the Sexual Evolution” (curated traveling show), and Arno Rafael Minkinnen’s “Weightlessness" (NEA Funded).ACADEMIC AWARDS: SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence, JCC Presidents Excellence Award, and several JCC Teaching Excellence Awards.   ART SERVICES: Colby held Society for Photographic Education (SPE) Northeast Region offices, reviewed portfolios for national conferences, and exhibited over 40 members. He also served on the Visual Arts Panel, New York State Council on the Arts.
