I developed an alternative heating strategy for one of the University of Utah's buildings that improves the local air quality by timing the boilers to run during periods of the day when air quality is better. This redistribution of pollution based on timing lowers the daily peak of tracked pollutants while maintaining a comfortable building temperature. The schedule was recently implemented on a trial basis to the building's heating and cooling operations.

I was the onsite engineer for open cut repair and trenchless technology rehabilitation for municipal sewer improvement projects where I coordinated with subcontractors, reviewed deliverables, and enforced project installation to the design specification standards. I maintained and improved the accuracy of the client sewer and drainage infrastructure GIS databases through field and record investigations. I designed an installment of a multi-year sewer system evaluation survey (SSES), and analyzed previous installments to make tiered repair recommendations on the basis of consequence and likelihood of failure.

I performed visual inspections of the dams within the State of Vermont as mandated in 10 V.S.A. Section 1105 under the mentorship of the State Engineer, documented the findings, and compiled the results and recommendations in a report that was both kept on State file and sent to the owners of the dams. Additionally, I was in charge of contacting the dam owners and scheduling inspection times all the while representing the State in a courteous and professional manner.

I investigated the benefits of incorporating an octet truss into the design of Lateral Transfer Retroreflectors for the NASA ATLAS (Advanced Topographical Laser Altimeter System) program. During this project I conferred with NASA officials to clarify their design criteria and evaluate our proposed design modifications. I utilized the CAD program Solidworks in creating the LTR design and communicating it with the NASA team in Washington D.C. At the end of the project I traveled to the Goddard Space Flight Center to make a formal presentation of the results to our NASA collaborators.
