James is an experienced architect specialising in the design and delivery of complex projects at various scales.He has extensive experience of working with complex existing buildings and combines his technical knowledge of contracts, Building Regulations and other legislation with great skill in precisely communicating a strong design to get the desired result on site. James is Technical Director at DLA Architecture with responsibility for supporting the project teams with statutory duties, compliance, risk and technical aspects of projects across the London studio. With his eye for detail and knowledge of construction materials and methods, James has proven his ability within an AJ100 practice in London by leading projects from inception to completion, client- and contractor-side. Clients included Wimbledon AELTC, Morgan Capital, McKay Securities, Wetherspoon, & various NHS Trusts. Outside of architecture, he has a passion for fitness and adventure. When he’s not in the gym, he kitesurfs on the south coast as much as the British weather (and his young family) allows, and enjoys crusading through singletrack on his mountain bike.
