3Rd EngineerSealion Shipping Limited Nov 2010 - Mar 2016EOOW DP2 Anchor Handling vessel Toisa Defiant, EOOW and DP watch keeper on DP2 ROV class vessel Toisa Valaint and Saturation dive support vessel Toisa Paladin. My current role includes reporting to chief and second engineers. I am responsible for monitoring as well as assisting in the operation and repair of all ships systems. An integral and vital part of my role is monitoring the ships systems and divers life support systems whilst they are at work. I undertake a 12 hour watch in which the engine control room and machinery spaces must be manned at all times ensuring that all equipment is fully functioning and that the highest level of support is given to the clients on board, to enable them to carry out their job effectively. -
4Th EngineerSealion Shipping Limited Sep 2010 - Nov 2010WorldwideReporting directly to chief and second engineers. My role was to assist in the maintenance and running of the engine room on a daily basis. Whilst in sole command of an engine room watch during sea going passages and whilst being engaged in towing operations. -
Junior EngineerSealion Shipping Jan 2009 - Nov 2010Junior watch keeper on-board a DP2 ROV class offshore support vessel. Engaged in electromagnetic survey. This role required me to report directly to the second and Chief Engineer Officer. I worked within a small and close knit team which makes communication and teamwork essential for successful operation. My role required me to monitor, operate and repair all of the ships propulsion plant and associated systems whilst also maintaining the hotel services of the vessel. This is achieved in part by the operation of a vessel planned maintenance system.Whilst the vessel is in port the engineering department operates on day work and runs UMS (unmanned machinery space) at night which involves me taking a independent duty every 3rd day. On sea going passages we operate single manned watches, one of the watch keepers being myself. When the vessel is engaged in DP watches such as diving operations or work within the 500m exclusion zone of an installation I undertake a 12hr DP watch where the machinery space must be manned at all times. The routine running of this vessel was supplemented by various different mobilizations, from ROV systems to customization for a specific off-shore wind farm role. This has given me direct experience in this unique and high pressured environment.
