Responsible for establishing material and asset management programs, policies, and procedures; and ensuring compliance to DoD Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) standards for the enterprise. Develops strategies, procedures, and policies to more accurately track Operating Materials & Supplies (OM&S) and Government Assets. Assists in special projects affecting Plant Property, Minor Property, Sponsor-Owned Material, and Inventory programs. Independently maintains and monitors databases to ensure accurate tracking of material and asset data for the organization. Performs life-cycle material and asset management to include acquisition, maintaining, and disposition. Develops tracking reports to assess and maintain the accuracy and auditability of material and asset financial records.

Manages transportation operations for the worldwide movement of cargo and other mission support equipment via all transportation modes, including ordnance, vehicles, HAZMAT, and other support material. Independently develops logistical plans and policies. Directs the acquisition of all material and services utilizing contracts, purchase cards, and military logistics methods. Oversees the receipt, storage, inventory control, and issue of material. Makes requirements determinations by projecting future workload and forthcoming operations. Directed the acquisition of supplies, repair parts, and weapons systems through the federal supply system. Managed the receipt, storage, inventory control, and issue of consumable supplies and repair parts for shipboard and industrial usage. Administered the operations of the officers' messes and staterooms. Directed purchase of resale merchandise, supplies and equipment for the mess. Oversaw preparation and serving of food and beverages. Prepared periodic financial statements to account for receipts and disbursements from the mess. Managed the hazardous material re-utilization program to ensure environmental compliance with federal regulations.
