In charge of all EH&S matters for the company

I am in charge of seeing a project through from beginning to finished completion. I am given a job and it is my job to deconstruct the project to enable the company to assess the profitability of all elements of the project. I also look after the health and safety on the particular project I am in control of. I also have to staff the project with suitable qualified labour. To purchase the materials at the best possible price and deliver to site as when required. To ensure all financial applications are submitted and agreed on time. To oversee production of O&M manuals, financial completion and site clearance.

As the accountant I have numerous tasks. I authorise payments, prepare yearly budgets, intrastats, stock control and accountability, prepare monthly management accounts, payroll, weekly sales report, liaise with company directors and external auditors, VAT returns, prepare royalties reports. This is just some of the jobs I am accountable for.

Running all accounts for the company

I am currently covering illness for credit control. This concerns applying payments, chasing customers and dealing with queries and finding a resolution by talking to project managers and liaising with different customers.

The majority of my duties involve balance sheet reconciliations including prepayments and accruals. Bank reconciliations. Assisting with month end management accounts and forecasting. Preparing variance analysis reports for overhead variance, profit margins on jobs, and stock counts. Assisting with stock control yearly counts. Assisting with foreign currency hedging. Assisting with SOX and internal controls testing. Assisting with preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaising with auditors. Preparation of statutory USGAAP to UKGAAP annual reconciliations. Maintaining fixed asset registers and leased buildings and equipment database. Various adhoc reporting as required. As part of my role is an accounts payable assistance. This involves processing invoices, obtaining invoice approvals in accordance with the approval matrix. Payment to suppliers via BACS runs. Investigation and resolution to invoices without purchase orders, liaising with commercial/IT departments regarding purchase orders, project costing and budgetary information.
