I gained a promotion into the PTNVH team and began working on the introduction of 18MY programs including the introduction of AJ20-P4 into the D8 platform (Evoque, Discovery Sport and E-Pace). This presented some significant challenges, mainly making exhaust noise refined enough for the vehicle lines. I then moved onto the development of powertrain NVH systems into the new PTA platform including the first PHEVs on this platform alongside JLR's all new 3 cylinder petrol engine, AJ20-P3.I then worked on the introduction of JLR's most recent 4 cylinder diesel engine, AJ21-D4, which also presented some interesting engineering challenges in terms of required hardware and software change to get refinement to an acceptable level.I am currently working on a variety of other minor model year changes on existing platforms and some major new platforms due for introduction over the next 5 years.

After the graduate program, I returned to my home department. Here I began to take on a a number of Jobs roles including the VNVH PAT Leader for the introduction of 15MY Discovery Sport which saw us overcome a significant body boom issue by implementing absorbers into the vehicle; I also undertook a significant amount of pass-by noise testing which gave me experience across all of JLR's product lines for both in-house development and witnessed VCA certification testing; I was then the Vehicle NVH PAT leader for the 16MY introduction of AJ20-D4 replacing the Euro 5 DW12C PSA engine.

I started at Jaguar land rover in July 2011 as a graduate engineer. I completed a variety of placements across different departments that gave me a great overview of the company, from the design of early prototype vehicles through to a 4 month placement in PR where I was lucky enough to go on the launch of the Jaguar F-type in Northern Spain which was an experience I will never forget.

My first role from university saw me join a small team of intellectual engineers modelling the performance (payload vs range etc) of helicopters using Fortran. We also completed physical tethered helicopter testing which was quite an impressive test to be a part of.
