Skilled in several composite part manufacturing processes including VARTM, autoclave, wet lay-up, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion. After graduating, I landed a job with Madfiber, a hand-made carbon fiber bicycle wheel start-up in Seattle. There, I began honing my skills as a tool designer, but in general, I was exposed to nearly every aspect in what it takes to get a company off the ground. From product development to process development, warranty programs, prototyping, supplier/supply chain management and more.As my time with Madfiber drew to an end, and shortly before they closed their doors for good, I found a job working as a tool designer for, what was then known as Pacifica Engineering, and I've been growing my skill set ever since joining their team. As I've grown, so has Pacifica, having merged with MTorres to become MTorres America. Specialties: Solid Works, CATIA, Google SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, composite analysis, mechanical analysis, injection molding, thermoforming, rotomolding, lean manufacturing, hybrid vehicle design, renewable resource fuels, and vehicle aerodynamics.

Lead Design EngineerMtorres America May 2013 - Jun 2017In addition to the design skills and projects listed below as Associate Tool Designer, I was tasked with managing designs with a team of designers. Additional skills included managing budget, schedule and customer expectations, while working with a team to ensure design for manufacture, documenting customer concurrence and meeting design requirements. Not all projects go as planned, and a key role is managing project and scope creep, so the customer knows where additional effort is required.During my time as a lead engineer I became more actively involved in the competitive bidding process. As I grew and developed my design skills, I was able to apply my knowledge on the front end, to help craft budgets in order to win new contracts for design/build projects.During my role as Lead Design Engineer, I also spent roughly 1 year as a Supplier/Project Manager. I was very fortunate during that time to see very many designs from concept to final production. In some cases, I was also on site with the customer, troubleshooting for process and tool improvements. -

Cad Design/Software Tester/Customer SupportCadalog Inc. Apr 2007 - Jan 2010Bellingham, WashingtonThis was the first job I had where customer support was part of my job description. I gained lots of experience communicating with large architecture firms as well as small private firms via e-mail and telephone. Using 3D modeling skills I helped the company develop several 3D product lines for customers. While with Cadalog, I consistently managed and met, multiple, time sensitive deadlines.Within the first month of learning the company's top selling program, I was tasked with training and writing help documents because of my ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively.I was sent to clients to lead a training seminar which ended up turning in to a working meeting, where I was helping several designers at once to resolve issues.
