I am passionate about eye and overall health care. I have been lucky to actively advocate for patients in gaining access to the care that optometrists provide at both the state and national level on multiple occasions. I will continue to do so. I am additionally passionate about providing vision and comfort to individuals who have gone without both for many years through the application of specialty contact lenses. This skill set has allowed me to differentiate myself as a respected healthcare provider and as such I work hard to try and educate future doctors and my colleagues on how to master scleral lens applications. I have a special interest in brain injury and vision and actually got an MPH in this particular area. I work tirelessly on educating other health care providers, and payors on the advantages of having vision specialists like optometrists as a member of the interdisciplinary team at brain injury rehabilitation hospitals.
