James is currently the Co CEO and CFO of Halo Group, a privately owned multinational business focused on high-end furniture design, manufacturing and distribution.Halo distributes its upholstery and lighting products globally via both its wholesale furniture collections, sold B2B globally to many large premium furniture retailers, and through two high end brands; Timothy Oulton and Andrew Martin. Halo operates manufacturing hubs in China, Mexico, Vietnam and Brazil, where it employs over 600 team members. It also produces and sells proprietary finished leathers. Prior to joining Halo in April 2021, James spent 14 years at PwC which culminated in him becoming a Partner in PwC China's Deals business. Over his time at PwC, James spent time across a number of businesses including PwC’s restructuring, transaction services, valuation and assurance teams. After moving to Hong Kong in 2014, his focus was on advising foreign corporates or capital providers lend to, invest in or exit Asian headquartered businesses. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having exam qualified at the ICAEW in 2009 and has been frequently quoted or interviewed in respect of Chinese capital flows in the international business press including in the FT, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.
