Worked with small team of engineers to stand up a new suite of production services hosted on Azure.For the Your Phone app on PC, Your Phone Companion on Android, and Edge browser on Android: Implemented Java & C++ client-side frameworks to enable experimentation and controlled feature rollouts in these apps on Windows and Android.Windows 10 1709-1809: Implemented an on-client user interaction signal processing module and ML model evaluation host and then worked with data scientists and Windows Update to make better decisions about when to prompt users and when to reboot to install OS updates. Implemented support in the window frame around Win32 and UWP apps to enable screen readers to navigate tabbed sets.Windows 10 1607- 1703: Oversaw and contributed to my team’s work to refactor our source code as part of the overall Windows work to build a common, minimal OS foundation shared across all Windows-powered devices. Architect for redesign of Windows on-device setup flow to be voice driven and more inclusive. Team Git champion during the transition of Windows source code from Source Depot to Git.

Windows 10: Led client team that implemented new retail demo experience for PCs and Phones with new support for updating on-device content merged from OEMs, retail stores & Microsoft. Co-owned new PC setup experience app architecture that added support for network-hosted account setup experiences.Windows 8.1: Led client team that added backup and roaming support to Windows for UWP apps and system settings via partnership with OneDrive client & service teams and Windows application runtime team.

Led client team that added support for associating files with UWP applications, integrated SmartScreen with downloaded files, added connected account status, added the modern boot UX, and updated the OS-wide standard progress controls.

Led development team that implemented Windows Media Connect, Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service, media sharing in Windows Home Server, and the Play To and Remote Media Streaming functionality in Windows. Partnered with the Xbox 360 team to ensure it could stream media (audio, video, images) from Windows PCs at launch. Helped MTP & WPD teams as they invented & shipped v1 of their technologies for connecting portable devices via USB and IP networks.

· Led team supporting components of DirectShow while developing foundational pieces of Media Foundation, including the audio renderer, audio capture source, and video capture source (DV and camera) that shipped in DirectX and Windows releases. Co-authored architectural specs and interface design for async media processing, media sinks, and media sources that are still used more than 15 years later.
