35 years working in the maritime industry with Denholm's, P&O Princess Cruises and with Woodside Energy and as Marine Service Technician with RFD Survitec in O'Connor Western Australia.As Marine Engineer onboard Woodside Energy’s Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) vessels Cossack Pioneer, Nganhurra, Ngujima Yin and Okha I was involved with the maintenance and repair of all systems and equipment within the engine room and process areas as directed by the Production Maintenance Coordinator and Designated Chief Engineer. Whilst disconnected from the riser, with facility in ship mode at sea, I was responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the propulsion and auxiliary systems as watchkeeping Engineer.For the last two years I have worked as part of the Campaign Maintenance team as Permit Control Officer utilising the Surpass Integrated Safe System of Work (ISSOW) software package. This involved processing permits and developing equipment shutdown & isolation schemes., and working closely with the shoreside maintenance planning team and onboard supervisors to identify all planned recurring and corrective work, within the SAP maintenance software, to allow for the most efficient maintenance of machinery to reduce down time. This included working with the Refurbishment and Inspection teams with repair works and statutory surveys by Lloyds and ABS. I contributed to safety and culture by being a member of the Emergency Response Team (including Team Leader), Helideck crew and Helicopter Landing Officer.Worked ashore in Woodside office on a temporary assignment as Maintenance Scheduler for the Nganhurra FPSO. In my "spare" time I was a member of Guildford Volunteer Fire & Rescue for 10 years and currently a member of Fremantle Volunteer Marine Rescue as Senior Crew and Radio Operator.
