I am a QUT MPhil graduate from the BMW Group + QUT Design Academy where I explored advances in human-robot interactions. With a background in Industrial Design and Psychology. I tutor Industrial Design units looking at tangible interactions and am a Research Assistant in various QUT Design Lab projects related to transport and health. With a background in prototyping and coding, James has been involved in various high-profile projects, including the HEAL project and the creative team lead for the ARS Electronica Futurelab, which was a finalist in the 2018 IxDA Awards. I now looks to apply what he has learned from these experiences to new forms of prototyping in human-robot interaction and collaboration at the Australian Cobotics Centre.

Currently undertaking a Masters of Philosophy in Industrial Design focusing on advances in human-robot interaction for manufacturing and logistics.

Worked as the Creative Lead for the Living Walls project in partnership with ARS Electronica Australia, this work was shown at ARS Electronica Festival in Linz Austria 2019.

Through the Futurelab Academy I acted as the Creative Lead for the Soundline project, developing project aims and directing the teams' actions to ensure deliverables were provided within the required timeframe. This project went on to place as a finalist at the IxDA 2018.

As a Design Consultant, I would liaise with clients to determine design objectives, develop design solutions and ensure the efficient manufacture and installation of deliverables.

As part of this internship role, I was given the opportunity to develop a concept design for the medals tray to be used during the Commonwealth Games in 2018. This opportunity allowed me to explore different aspects of design such as ergonomics, manufacturing and product visualisation.

 Promoted from Driver to Shift Manager after only 3 months at Domino's Pizza.  Developed strong skills in managing a team of employees.  Developed customer service skills including phone service skills, through in-store and online training programs.
