I am currently working at British Sugar, part of the ABF group as a recent chemical engineering graduate. In the summer of 2017 I graduated from the University of Bath with a Second Class honours masters degree in an IChemE acredited course. Throughout my education I have always worked, even during busy periods, this shows my ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and my strong time management skills. In my engineering placements and projects I have developed my analytical and problem solving skills giving me the ability to break complex problems down into more manageable sizes, making them far easier to complete.Experience being chairman of the rugby league club and social secretary of the chemical engineering society has given me opportunity to further progress my managerial and organisational skills. As an avid sportsman who has represented the Wales Students (during the 2015 4 nations), South West Students as well as the university first team my ability and willingness to work in a team can be highlighted. I am an active person and enjoy pushing myself to the best of my ability in any given area.I am passionate about embarking on a career in Process Engineering with a particular passion for safety. I have ambitions to further my knowledge of process engineering and after graduation will look to become chartered. Currently applying for graduate schemes starting September 2017.

Summer PlacementBiocatalysts Ltd Jun 2013 - Aug 2013Nantgarw, WalesAssisted a scale-up operation enabling the site to complete fermentations up to 500 litres. After installation was completed I was able to monitor fermentation of novel enzymes over a number of days. The process gave me an invaluable insight into the industry and I gained practical skills I can implement in the future. Completed laboratory research allowing Biocatalysts to sell an enzyme which increased the firmness of fruit allowing a yoghurt company to manufacture their yoghurts to their desired texture. Aided colleagues with research and maintained high 5s standards whilst phasing in lean manufacturing principles within the laboratories
