Principal Scientist
CurrentIn my current position I am working early stage target ID using an AI platform which employs a variety of machine learning and AI approaches. My role comprises responsibilities both designing and executing early stage target ID work from candidate target prediction through to validation. This work is often spread between functions with CROs and internally; with assay development and precision medicine approaches playing a major role in producing a data package for any given target. My responsibilities and skills in this area are also extended to collaborating with the clinical team in scoping and defining the protein biomarker strategy our clinical asset BEN-8744.In this role I have close interactions with AI/ML scientists and work with them in optimising model development and implementation for application in both structured and unstructured data environments. This collaboration has become very close over my time at BAI to the point where I am in the process of preparing scientific publications on the applications of our platform in TID.Good communication across functions is an essential part of my role at BAI. This combined with my aptitude for understanding new concepts and applications of our technology, has made me a key member of our ongoing collaboration with AstraZeneca Searching for novel targets in Lupus (SLE specifically).
