My current focus is on cloud enablement, especially container management and automation. However, I bring 18 years of working knowledge with me, having experience with traditional bare metal client/server architectures, driving adoption of virtualization technologies, and implementing geo-distributed platform services. I've seen technologies shift and evolve to drive better efficiencies, resiliency, and release velocity, but at the end of the day if there isn't a vision and a plan for the migration and evolution then even the best technology will fail.Ultimately, a good friend and former manager of mine put it best when he said, "my career goal is to work on cool stuff with cool people." I couldn't argue with it then, and I still think it's solid advice. I find it more realistic than the adage, "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." Let's be honest, I love to play guitar and mix live music, but I don't necessarily want to make a career out of it.
