Vice President Railcar Division
Bought, sold and leased railcars and locomotives. This was the last position I while with Herzog. I started out running the equipment trucks consisting of scheduling the delivery of equipment to our various job sites all over the U. S. while I was doing this I also looked after the equipment yards and the maintenance shop. During the fall and winter of 1979 I also looked after the building and on the job designing work on the liquid asphalt storage facility at MO -KAN on the Kansas side. Which after completion of the facility I order the railcars of Asphalt Cement from the refinery in Oklahoma. We then used the steam manifold at the Light&Power rail-siding at St Joseph. After bringing it up to temperature we either hauled if go our facility, or to one of our highway jobs, or supplied other contractors for their work. During this period of time our repair shop burned to the ground. I took on the overseeing of the rebuilding of the same, while working with some Kelly Girls preparing a inventory of our loss with paper receipt backup. After completion of the shop rebuild the scheduling of the local asphalt work, and the lay-down crews was added to my responsibilities. The spring of 1983 I think, i was sent to New Mexico and Texas to run the Asphalt Roto-milling
