In my current position at Insight I work on a search engine backed by Elasticsearch with data processing and REST APIs served through a Spring Boot Java backend. I helped design and develop the replication framework that handles large volumes of data coming from multiple systems of record and consolidate the data into our Elasticsearch indices for searching. Using Kafka, notifications indicating that data needs to be updated are stored and consumed in a priority fashion to keep our indices up to date. I also designed and created frontend tooling to help us monitor replication progress, history, and provide tools for easy maintenance of our data and data flow. I used React/Redux to create a frontend tool that helps users create hierarchical rules that in the backend I convert to Elasticsearch queries to assist with customized queries.In my previous company, Lucid Labs LLC, I helped create facility management software using Grails. This software helps facility managers keep track of assets and maintenance schedules in order to predict upcoming costs related to maintenance, repair, and replacement of facility assets to assist with data driven budgeting. I also worked on design and implementation of a work flow process for the application. Users could create tasks that need to be worked on, and the workers can take the tasks through the workflow from start to finish, logging progress and notes along the way.
