Leading a team delivering education and programs to improve our environment, through partnerships, programs and behaviour change. The team’s diverse work includes coordinating the NSW Asbestos Coordination Committee, leading the Broken Hill Environmental Lead Program, partnering with council stakeholders, and delivering grant programs to support environmental recovery from bushfires and floods, cleaning up waste in Aboriginal communities, reducing illegal dumping and supporting waste innovation and waste infrastructure improvements in local government.

Leading a team that delivers the EPA’s regulatory and compliance functions to protect human health and the environment, in areas including pollution (air, water, noise), waste, contaminated sites, dangerous goods, pesticides and radiation. The team’s work also includes responding to environmental incidents, community concerns and emerging environmental issues as well as working with stakeholders on innovative solutions to drive environmental improvements and initiatives. Current focus areas include Port Botany noise, the three Sydney Metro rail transit projects and working with the Parramatta River Catchment Group in its work to transform the Parramatta River and its tributaries into living waterways.

Leads a team that regulates over 220 licensed industry facilities across 29 local government areas in Metropolitan Sydney, covering diverse sectors such as chemical manufacturing, metal coating and marinas. The team also regulates a wide range of other activities including concrete batching plants and council activities and provides advice on significant planning matters. In addition to a strong focus on effective regulation, the team responds to pollution incidents and carries out campaigns and operations for other EPA-regulated matters, including pesticides and dangerous goods.Also participated in a pilot program for developing higher performing teams and continuing to undertake further initiatives in this area, including developing a team charter, a performance dashboard and projects to measure team health and enhance project delivery.

Managed a team of operations officers responsible for regulating licensed industrial facilities in Sydney, responding to environmental incidents, regulatory projects and campaigns, and local government liaison. Played key roles in the EPA’s management of complex remediation projects and the regulation of high-profile Environment Protection Licences. Represented the EPA at almost 100 community consultative committee meetings, including for Orica remediation projects and Port Botany.
