- Development and implementation of membership policy, engagement and retention.- Management of the FPH policy and work programme relating to the public health specialty training programme, including oversight of the specialty training curriculum and the MFPH examinations.- Leadership of the standard setting function, developing guidance and high quality standards of practice for the public health workforce post-qualification, in close collaboration with elected Officers and the Public Health Standards and Knowledge Committee. Includes oversight of the FPH system of revalidation, the continuing professional development (CPD) scheme and the organisation's role in senior public health appointments (AACs).- Management of all Education & Professional Standards staff.Recent notable achievements:• Developing and launching a new categories of membership.• Overseeing an extensive (two year) review of the public health specialty training curriculum, culminating in a successful submission of a new curriculum to the General Medical Council (GMC).• Mitigating the risks associated with a recent review of the Part A MFPH examination by the GMC and ensuring an implementation plan is in place to ensure the implementation of a number of significant recommendations.• Building good partnerships with stakeholders including the Local Government Association, Public Health England and the Department of Health to ensure the specialty of public health is valued within the health system following the transition from the NHS to local government in 2013.
