• Day-to-day and long-term management of the Public Safety Department of an urban campus with a population of around 50,000 students and 2,500 staff. Manage over 70 full-time staff, oversees security coverages, fire safety, card access, video surveillance system, and emergency management plans for the campus. • Manage an operating budget of $4 million for salaries, professional development training, security systems, and maintenance contracts.• Maintain over 400 digital video surveillance systems covering over 1.7 million square of space and two parking facilities.• Maintain a close relationship with college constituents and stakeholders by hosting events, tabletop exercises, periodic departmental meetings, and visits. Interact with local police precinct, fire department, emergency management services, and the City University of New York (CUNY) team to ensure safety and security of the College community and neighborhood. • Work on security details for campus events attended by high-profile national political and business leaders.• Record and compile criminal and security incident statistics. Monitor and track crime stats and trends to implement corrective and proactive measures to address potential risks to persons and/or property• Maintain a searchable database of all incidents, tours, and other reports used for legal and assessment purposes. • Maintain and update emergency management plans under the University and College guidelines.• Ensure compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
