James has over 40 years Senior executive experience with Intercontinental Hotels Group, Sheraton, the World Bank, O.A.S, Interstate UK ( formerly Chardon ).He has worked as a consultant to several companies Holiday Inn, Mercure, Starwood, Tulip Hotels, Puma, The Hotel Collection, and recently asset managed the UK portfolio of Marriott Hotels for ADIA.James is recognised as one of the worlds most experienced rebranding and new hotel opening experts worldwide having opened over 80 hotels in the UK, Italy, Jamaica, France, Germany, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia and Spain most probably a world record. He has had responsibility for hotel assets worth more than £1billion and has had over 6,000 employees reporting to him at any one time. He managed the UK record £1billion Posthouse Hotels acquisition and integration for the Intercontinental Hotel Group in and has taken part in rebranding, refurbishment and change of ownership of over 180 hotels in his career, again probably a record. He also had commercial, food & beverage and revenue responsibilities for that estate with over 15,000 bedrooms and 95 restaurants. He was the first independent Holiday Inn franchisee in the UK in 1990 and is one of five in the UK to hold a Masters degree in business administration and hotel asset management. He is a fellow of the HCIMA and BAHA, and is based in the Midlands and is a life member of the Cornell Hoteliers Society.In the late 90s James was Operations Director for Holiday Inn Express and grew the brand from 6-60 hotels in EMEA in 3 years. He invented and developed a Correlation Energy Monitoring system that helps change staff behaviours, reducing carbon footprints which is still used in over 90 hotels on several continents.During his career he has helped create over 10000 sustainable jobs, many of which are located in impoverished areas of the globe.He opened the Carribeans most successful hotel school in 1986, assisting that 3rd world country to move from its dwindling mining industry to tourism and hospitality, working with the Prime ministers office and the OAS, since leaving 300,000 graduates have gone into the industry all over the globe. James was Managing Director of the Telford International Centre in the early 90,s
