James H. Klippel Residential Design, LLC. is a residential design consulting firm specializes in collaborative teaming the finest artisans, craftspeople in each individual or master planned residential development project. Jim is an American Institute of Building Design, AIBD, member, NCBDC professional designer. In 2004-05, Jim was honored with design member of the year for GA. He has been certified with RESNET and Energy Star to rate designs, approve residential designs to conform to the 2012 ES 3.0 energy codes. Jim is also a member of the GA chapter of the Green Building Council a former staff person of South Face Energy Institute. As a winner of dozens of local, national, and international design and art awards, Jim's design focus is rooted in a deep historical understanding of world building history as well as organic, vernacular, modern, solar designs. In 2016 Jim was honored with a gold and silver OBIE award for the finest home in the Metro Atlanta area in the over $2,000,000 category granted by the SMC and GAHB.Jim is also a member of The Friends of Kebyar designers, associate artist in the Tannery Row Artist Colony Buford, GA, a Frank Lloyd Wright Docent,and founder of THE WRIGHT DOCENTS.ORG. As an artist and design consultant, Jim also creates concept home designs and artistic rendering design for his clients. Jim has the ability to freshly and creatively visualize his clients home plan desires and goals providing unique and timeless design of lasting value and character. In his spare time, Jim volunteers for nonprofits and charitable organizations, fund raisers with time or his own painting donations. In 2016 Jim was invited to the AIA Atl President's Advisory Council of the Arts. As a hobbyist historian, Jim has also been asked to speak for historical societies on historic structures of the south and Frank Lloyd Wright. Jim also, donates designs to conservation groups. For example the Bald Eagle aviary at the Chattahoochee Nature Center.
