About James Haag

Nestled in the administration corridor of every industrial operation in the U.S. is an individual or group that helps that operation maintain compliance with environmental regulations. That individual or group must have a dual understanding of environmental science and the industrial process that they are serving. That individual or group must know about the challenges of the maintenance personnel who are responsible to keep the operation running on all cylinders. That individual or group must understand how the equipment works, why it doesn't work sometimes, and the implications of it not working. That individual or group must understand physics and chemistry because the environment is science, not politics. That individual or group must understand the law and how to translate it to those who don't, especially when things are complicated. I am that individual and I serve as a leader to that group, helping my staff to share the understanding that I have of the things mentioned above. I began my career working for government agencies studying environmental conditions on public lands. Then moved over to the consulting business where I helped my clients study the environmental and chemical conditions of their industrial properties. Currently I work for the mining industry and oversee a team of environmental professionals who help keep one of the largest copper mines in the world in compliance with environmental regulations. This is me, James Haag.
