Since 2016 my work has carried on to emerging database platforms and the implementation of the automation required to deploy at enterprise scale. Key Skills and Area of Expertise -Adept in design and implementation of data architectures that include an ensemble of products that scale linearly and provide reduced total cost of ownership. The Swiss Army Knife approach of requiring Oracle, SQL Server or DB2 to handle caching, structured and non-structured data has long gone. Employing open source database products not only removes the financial handcuff of being locked into a bad decision, but melds perfectly with an Agile continuous deployment strategy. MariaDB, MySQL and Postgres are open source database products of choice with storing relational data (ACID). Redis is also a vital component in any data fabric and can provide an instantaneous boost in performance if used correctly. This requires knowing your data and being able to discern what data is consistently requested repeatedly or needed by your Web front-end to service content components quickly. In regards to NoSQL databases, MongoDB is a great document database and my choice with incorporating in any CICD pipeline. The complexity of change is removed and replaced with flexibility through its JSON(BSON) document model. Cassandra is another favorite and can reach scales seamlessly and linearly with large data sets.
