Led a team of 6 direct reports and managed the relationships with multiple internal stakeholders - programming, marketing, PR, sales and acquisitions - plus all the external partners - Supercars, Formula 1, Dorna (MotoGP), IndyCar, World Rally Championship and numerous other categories. Achievements- The Fox Sports Executive Producer on the world class Supercars coverage directing talent and producers at outside broadcasts and studio hostings. This requires traveling to up to 16 events around Australia and New Zealand and overseeing all production elements including infrastructure build, managing on-air talent and staff and developing rundowns. The ratings for Supercars had double digit growth YOY from 2015-2019 - highlighted by the 502K audience for Bathurst – the biggest audience for a Supercars race on Fox Sports and in the Top 20 shows ever on STV.- Produced an Australian sporting first – Bathurst 2018 live in 4K. This involved consulting with Supercars, FOXTEL and Gravity Media to develop new systems and workflows for an end2end production in 4K. This was all achieved in under 6 weeks and was executed flawlessly to a record Bathurst audience. - Responsible for the structure and implementation of budgets across the motorsport codes. Over the past year a number of costs savings have been identified to reduce the overall budget.- Worked with the Acquisitions and Programming Teams negotiating deals for content from Sporting Bodies and Content Distributors. The highlight being the recent 5 year renewal for Supercars. - Led the Commercial relationships both internally and externally for Motorsport. Worked closely with the Sales Team to ensure that targets were achieved. Identified key automotive brands that would be looking for opportunities on Fox Sports. Developed concepts for integration that met the briefs from clients.
Supervising Producer - Motorsport
Led the newly formed motorsport production team for Fox Sports integrating the major acquisitions of V8 Supercars, Formula 1 and MotoGP. Achievements- Developed and managed relationships with key motorsport categories.- Launched Supercars on Fox Sports providing live exclusive feed for 8 rounds and covering the other 6 rounds live in simulcast with Channel 10.- Successful production of the Supercars events & selection of the initial production team to create the events and broadcast them in a new and exciting format designed to enhance the viewing experience. This has led to increased ratings YOY for every year of the deal.- Developed the graphics and visual look of the product working on bringing innovation to the broadcast.- Led the relationship interface between Fox Sports and Supercars coordinating the management of the broadcasting live feed which is controlled by the Supercars Media arm.- Built a Bathurst Pop Up Channel for the biggest motorsport event of the year including programming, production of exclusive documentaries and a specific graphics package. As well as expanding the digital platform led by a Bathurst App (Fox Vision). The app included world first 360 and VR content. This led to a 36% increase in TV ratings for the race.
Speed Channel Manager
SPEED was a dedicated motorsport channel which was launched on Foxtel in November 2010. Reporting to the Director of Fox Sports Channels and led a team of 7 direct reports in all operations of motorsport on Fox Sports.Achievements- Managed the channel design which involved selection of the graphic and musical elements for the channel- Created the program schedule & managed acquisitions for the channel including securing available content and working these additions within the allocated budget.- Managed channels production, scheduling, and graphics as well as marketing/PR, digital and promosImplemented and administered all operations to budget.- Recruitment and selection of the entire SPEED team- Travelled to the US to ensure that the US and Australian SPEED brands were aligned with a pure focus on racing and negotiated content which could be integrated into the Australian market.- Negotiated deals and maintained relationships with major sporting bodies including NASCAR,Formula 1, ESPN, WRC, V8 Supercars, Dorna and IMG which culminated in securing exclusive access to content for the channel. - Worked closely with the sales team on sponsorship and integration opportunities which resulted in achieving the objective of bringing the client brief to life and designed the development of methods to integrate the advertisers brand into the broadcasts to leverage their sponsorship.
