Jim has been photographing Newfoundland and Lab. as a serious amateur for the past 30+ years and has been painting for since 2008. Involve - Community Addiction SolutionsInvolve Sep 2011 - PresentHolyrood, NlINVOLVE In 2011 Jim formed Involve a Newfoundland and Lab “grass roots” community focused addiction awareness program. Specifically we reach out to areas of need in 2 areas: Awareness to rural Newfoundland and to seniors as a demographic. Through a series of talks to churches, service clubs and seniors centers we bring a message of Respect, Hope, Direction and Recovery and we help de-stigmatize attitudes towards the addicted. We show where help is available – through the excellent programs with Addiction Services (NL Government Dept. of Health and Welfare), through private counseling and support groups. In addition we are building a solid network of community based support people. We show the need to be involved rather than expect others to “fix the problem”.

He has 2 categories of photos: the artistic photos and images of the towns, landscapes, bays, bogs and cites that make up Newfoundland. He specializes in canvas mount gallery wrap photos. Jims is a board member of the Art Association of Newfoundland and Labrador and has demonstrated painting to elementary school classes.
