Commercial Ground up Turn Key Projects (All Phases)
Responsible for field supervision of craft and/or subcontractors for the installation, testing and turnover of structural systems to commissioning; Oversee the daily structural department construction activities at the work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials and progress of the project; Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures in the specified discipline; Supervise daily Structural activities; Use in-depth knowledge of work processes and tools within Structural/Iron worker disciplines to ensure assigned scope of work is accomplished safely, timely, and to the highest standards of quality; Sets priorities for own craft and able to coordinate work activities with other disciplines and subcontractors to ensure task completion; Assess workforce, material, tool, and construction equipment needs and arranges for these components to support the needs of the project; Able to analyze productivity trends and make adjustments to work activities to optimize production; Review cost reports and projections and take action to effectively manage job costs to levels within the contract budget; Assist in the development and is required to maintain the project schedule by studying project plans and specifications; Calculating time requirements; Sequencing project elements; Develop solutions for routine problems using defined processes and own experience and able to develop and implement work-around and recovery plans; Enforce job site safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the company's safety program; Ensure work is installed per the requisite quality standards; Maintain daily logs to document all job site activities and events; Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Oversee all aspects of construction projects from "award of tender" to "substantial completion". Planning, scheduling and managing of construction projects as they relate to the structural steel trade. Monitor and coordinate work performed with fabrication shop and field crews. Review and interpret designs, architectural and structural drawings, understanding design intent and direct steel detailer to prepare drawings to shop standards. Ensure that shop drawings are in compliance with design intent of the project. Establish performance and delivery criteria, ensuring that client and company requirements are met. Prepare project schedules and plan material purchases. Maintain control of documents, drawing revisions and change orders. Direct work sequencing to expedite project delivery and to maximize efficiency of fabrication shop and field erection crews.
