My responsibilities currently cover leading the UK engineering for Hydro boosters systems which is encompassed by the internal role VTR (variant technical responsible). This involves maintaining the standard range of boosters and assisting the production line. Maintenance involves using the SAP system to ensure BOM's, routings and any engineering changes are handled correctly and implemented to the production line in a suitable, controlled manner. The role also encompasses creating new variants of the booster products to cater for specific customer requirements. This involves design using CAD (Catia package), creation in the SAP system and production support during the assembly.By being technical lead for the product, I ensure that colleagues working on the same product adhere to the standard rules and processes within the company. I also lead larger projects as part of the variants which involves factory acceptance tests with customers. Mentoring and colleague support also feature in my day to day role to develop apprentices further and guide my colleagues.

My job title involves completing tasks and training equivalent to a Graduate Engineering role. I am responsible for customer support on a range of pumps as well as production and application engineering for the same pump ranges and specific projects related to 'Design to Value' activities. The Technician role at Grundfos is a stepping stone to the Engineer title, in the same way that the title Graduate Engineer is in other organisations.Day to day I am responsible for a whole range of tasks, including maintaining and creating bills of materials, assembly time specification, design calculations and resolution of production issues.I oversee the SP assembly line and I have recently started to oversee the hydro booster line. This involves solving issues on the shop floor, designing booster sets in CAD and creating bills of materials, routings and costings for special booster sets. This also expands into the Engineered to Order (ETO) section of the business where I am undertaking a project to insert a booster set into a kiosk. I am also involved in a project to redesign the SP assembly area layout and design a new assembly bench to allow easier assembly of larger SP pumps.

My responsibilities included, interacting with customers and dealing with customer requests, ensuring shelving is tidy and presentable, stocking the cake and bread isles with new stock and managing overstock.
