WESTERN STATES MINING CONSULTANTS, CASPER, WY1993 – 1995 SR. MINE ENGINEER• Provide engineering and project management services including geologic field investigations, reserve analysis, pond design, mine planning, mine permitting, mine capital and operating cost estimates, and construction management. • Prepared a reserve evaluation for proposed limestone quarry operations. • Designed a railroad spur for Powder River Basin coal mine to increase mine production.

K & R COAL COMPANY, BETHANY, OK1990 – 1992 DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING• Provide engineering, permitting, and planning support for three (3) dragline mines (350,000 tons per year total capacity). • Ensured field compliance with all environmental rules and regulations. • Responsible for all ground water well installations and surface and ground water monitoring. • Completed two new permits and two active permit renewals, allowing for the expansion of operations.• Responsible for the application and approval of an Army Corps of Engineers 404 Permit for new mine operation.

USIBELLI COAL MINE, HEALY, AK1986 – 1990 DESIGN ENGINEER• Developed short and long-range dragline and truck/shovel mine plans for a 1.7Mtpy coal mine.• Operated and maintained engineering computer systems used for geologic modeling, mine planning, and mine surveying.• Developed short range mine plan, allowing company to reduce overtime operations and operating costs.

THE FALKIRK MINING COMPANY, UNDERWOOD, ND (NORTH AMERICAN COAL COMPANY SUBSIDIARY)1985 – 1985 SR. PLANNING ENGINEER• Supervised four engineers in charge of long-range dragline planning, mine permitting, and production budgeting for a 6.0M tpy coal mine.• Provided engineering support on various special projects.• Completed development of a detailed long range mine plan to minimize operating costs.• Prepared four major permit revisions for 6.0 Mtpy coal mine, resulting in continued violation free operation and increased operating efficiency.

THE COTEAU PROPERTIES COMPANY, BISMARCK, ND(NORTH AMERICAN COAL COMPANY SUBSIDIARY)1983 – 1984 ASSISTANT MANAGER, ENGINEERING• Supervised engineers responsible for developing short and long-range dragline mine plans, operating budgets, and profit projections.• Monitored budgetary performance for a 1.2Mtpy coal mine.• Updated and revised state and federal mine permits to ensure regulatory compliance.• Developed a detailed feasibility study for underdeveloped reserves, as well as long range mine plans and cost analysis for a small, mature coal mine in a competitive market to ensure future viability.• Monitored short range operating budgets where actual costs exceed projected by only 2% of a $12 million budget.

MINE ENGINEER• Evaluated surface coal mining prospects for acquit ion.• Prepared and received approval on investment proposals for coal property.• Prepared investment proposal to acquire coal properties worth $100M and received approval to negotiate for purchase.

THE FALKIRK MINING COMPANY, UNDERWOOD, ND (NORTH AMERICAN COAL COMPANY SUBSIDIARY)1979 – 1980 MINING ENGINEER• Prepared long and short-range dragline mine plans for a 6.0Mtpy coal mine and prepared equipment operating schedules.• Developed reclamation plans for ongoing operations.• Prepared mining portions of state and federal mine permits.

THE PITTSBURGH & MIDWAY COAL MINING COMPANY, ENGLEWOOD, CO (GULF OIL/CHEVRON SUBSIDIARY) 1978 – 1979 ASSISTANT DIVISION ENGINEER, DENVER OFFICE• Prepared major mine feasibility studies and economic evaluations of undeveloped company properties.• Provided engineering and mine permitting support to operating division mines, as required.

1976 – 1978 RESIDENT MINE ENGINEER, EDNA MINE/OAK CREEK, CO• Provided engineering, surveying, and production tracking support at 1.2Mtpy coal mine. Prepared all capital, production, and operating budgets.• Developed and implemented necessary mine exploration studies.• Prepared equipment evaluations with appropriate recommendations for purchase.• Completed design and implementation of a second seam recover operation, adding 1.5 years to the mine life.• Prepared and received approval of initial mining permit mandated by a new state law.

1974 – 1976 MINE ENGINEER MCKINLEY MINE, GALLUP, NM• Developed short and long range mine plans for a four (4) dragline multi-seam mining operation.• Provided production planning and scheduling for all draglines. • Prepared all monthly operational reports. • Supervised all mine surveying. • Developed the initial mining plans for four 55 cubic yard draglines working in a multi-seam coal mining operation.• Managed mine and corporate engineering functions including mine planning, budgeting, and permitting for major U.S. surface coal mining operations.• Evaluated significant surface mining prospects for acquisition by a major U.S. company.• Developed and implemented a second seam mining operation, extending mine life by five (5) years.• Developed and monitored operating budgets and mine performance for various mining companies.
