Msafiri: A study of HIV infection among African and Caribbean Black migrants to Canada.

• Carried out statistical analyses and mentored junior research assistants in data management, analytic techniques, data security, and statistical programming.• Led a team of international interns, produced multiple research reports and analyses for grants. Also brokered new collaboration between interns and professors.• Presented findings to professional audiences (18 presentations at national conferences including the Canadian Population Society, the Population Association of America, and the International Network for Social Network Analysis). • Published work in academic journals (see below). • Designed a short-form personality trait battery that was included in an NORC survey.• Contributed text to multiple high-profile, successful grant applications.KEY PROJECTSThe National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project: An ongoing nationally representative longitudinal study of older adults, incorporating biomeasures, social networks, geocoded administrative data, and psychometric assessments.Social Support and Risk Networks: A respondent-driven survey examining the social networks of African-American men who have sex with men, creating a geocoded picture of the whole sexual network in this population on the south side of Chicago.

• Led discussion sections and lectured for undergraduate students in 7 separate courses, including : Statistical Methods of Research, Introduction to GIS, Advanced Methods in Survey Research.
