Senior Project Engineer E&PNetwork Rail Dec 2017 - Oct 2024Mannin House CreweSenior Project Engineer (E&P) on Track Development for Both S&C and plain line national Renewals Programme.Key duties:•Manage the safe development and delivery of a programme of projects to agreed scope, time, and cost for E&P, liaising with other disciplines.•Provide feasibility, where required, for OLE, Third Rail, Plant and Signalling Power works.•Develop and complete the E&P element of project specifications.•Manage CDM risk throughout design and construction phase.•Review and assess competence of E&P designers and contractors on the programme.•Liaise with other portfolios i.e. advise on parallel design where required. •Oversee Source Document requests and returns from external parties.•Review and approve all OLE, Points Heating and Power Supply design for S&C projects.•Review and approve “Plain Line” OLE & Third Rail design.•Host / Attend Design Review and IDR meetings where required.•Deal with all E&P TQs from designer / implementation team.•Review E&P element of WPPs and advise on site safety and risk management.•Resolve any technical issues with respect to feasibility, design, snagging and follow up works.•Provide estimates of E&P “ancillary” costs to assist with Business Planning.•Review contractors target costs for E&P elements of the programme.•Highlight and manage any necessary derogation from Standards.•Apply for Tracker non-compliances where required.•Verify the production and hand back of As Built drawings and commissioning documentation.•Identify where efficiencies can be made throughout programme.In my current role I am one of the few people in the team with an E&P background. I therefore have a great degree of autonomy and oversee the E&P element of the works from feasibility through to completion. This means that the role is varied and requires excellent self-motivation, time management and task prioritisation in order to prevent E&P issues adversely affecting the track renewals programme. -
