As the Director of Capitol Grounds and Arboretum at the Architect of the Capitol, I have over 28 years of experience in public horticulture and professional grounds management. I hold two certifications that reflect my excellence and continuous learning in my field: ISA Certified Arborist and APPA Certified Educational Facility Professional, in addition, my academic credentials include a bachelors of science in ornamental horticulture and a masters degree in environmental science. My core competencies include organizational planning, team building, project planning, and horticultural consultation. I have led and supported multiple media-worthy events on the U.S. Capitol Grounds, such as presidential inaugurations, state funerals, and congressional ceremonies. I have also advised on the landscape renovation of Blair House, the guesthouse of the White House. My mission is to preserve and enhance the beauty, functionality, and sustainability of the Capitol Grounds and Arboretum, and to inspire and educate the public about its rich history and significance.
