About James Koppel, Ph. D.

My life mission is to reduce the global cost of software maintenance by 100x. Chasing the first 10x, I train professional software engineers to make software in a way that makes it easier to extend and modify, and less likely to have bugs (approximately 400 engineers trained 2016-2023) through my company www.mirdin.com . Chasing the second 10x, I have been passionate since 2010 about building advanced programming tools that can automate the tedious aspects of software engineering. I have worked at two companies selling program transformation tools, including one as a founder, and completed my Ph. D. at MIT on meta-metaprogramming, in hopes that making programming tools easier to build and more general will help us productize the intelligent tools that the research community already knows how to build.Website: www.jameskoppel.com
