About James Lamar

I write software. I'm familiar with a broad range of tools and implementation techniques, although I have been spending most of my time recently implementing distributed systems in one form or another. My relevant interests include language technology, distributed systems, concurrency/parallelism - but I feel the most important thing I do from day to day is design APIs.I want to work with people who see software as a strategic opportunity and who understand that how software is written matters a great deal.

Maintained and made improvments to distributed filesystem implementation and NFS server. Design work on external facing proprietary data API and implementation of a Java client, and automated integration test suite as well as an in-memory simulation of the API used for unit testing. Designed and built a custom query language for log files.
