I am a glaciologist who uses a wide range of techniques to understand how glaciers respond to climate change and impact people. I currently work extensively with satellite imagery at large spatial and temporal scales leveraging cloud computing technology to investigate both glacier and broader environmental change. I combine this with field based observations to gain greater insight into environmental processes and their responses to climate.The skills I utilise to achieve this include analysis of substantial remote sensing and climate datasets, and also have experience of using and developing numerical models. Although the majority of my work focuses on the recent past and future, I have also worked with geomorphological, sedimentological and archaeological data to place current changes into a longer term context.I have undertaken extensive fieldwork in the UK, Scandinavia, and Svalbard, though the majority of my work has been in Greenland. However, I maintain a broad interest in polar and mountainous regions.
