In August 2018, I was appointed as the Head of CC Law after a selection process by the CEO of Simpson Millar.In October 2020, I was promoted to Partner at Simpson Millar after completing a thorough application process.I currently manage a team of 16.As the Head of CC Law, my duties include:- Undertaking the day-to-day duties of a Costs Lawyer- Providing necessary support to the Senior Management Team and Practice Area Directors- Offering support to all colleagues within Simpson Millar, including those in fee-earning and business services departments, especially my fellow Heads of Department and members of the Simpson Millar Leadership Team- Providing various Management Information reports to Simpson Millar's Senior Management Team, Practice Area Directors, and Heads of Department- Allocating internal and outsourcing costs work externally- Reviewing, managing, and driving CC Law team-wide and individual performance- Implementing and ensuring best practices- Liaising with and managing our panel of external costs draftsmen- Communicating any developments to my team when appropriate and addressing any questions- Conducting annual appraisals and quarterly performance reviews with my team members- Reviewing and implementing changes to processes and systems for efficiency gainsI am also a member of the Simpson Millar Leadership Team.

From my start date of August 2016, my duties as a Costs Lawyer at CC Law included:• Drafting Bills of Costs• Drafting Costs Budgets• Drafting Schedules for Trial/Interlocutory Applications• Negotiating with Opposition on all of the above• Preparing Points of Dispute and Replies• Preparing Costs Submissions• Attending Court for Costs Management Hearings and Detailed Assessment Hearings• Preparing and filing Part 8 and Interim Payment Applications• General costs advice to clients.

I was privileged to gain invaluable experience and knowledge under the tutelage of Jon Williams, a highly respected and widely regarded expert in the field of legal costs throughout England & Wales.
