James M. Blake (SRMC level 6, 2022) is focused on security risk management. His experience includes The Risk Advisory Group, Control Risks and Veracity Worldwide, He is increasingly focused on managing emerging risks from digital security, including AI.In 2021 he published his first book Crisis Readiness: how business leaders can prepare for tomorrow from climate to cyber, which was reviewed by senior officials at Crumpton Martin, Aon and the CEO of a climate firm.During his time in the US on occasions he visited the White House, worked at the IMF, World Bank and organised a conference within the United Nations General Assembly.Case studies of work:1) Building from scratch WorldAware for a large insurance broker which became a standalone crisis management firm filled with former veterans and was subsequently sold to became an independent company valued at millions of dollars. 2) First response work for the IMF, embedded through Control Risks, in Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya and elsewhere which included work which helped mitigate risks to some of the prominent diplomatsattached to the Fund.3) Building training programs and risk assessment work for an array of clients in different sectors, which includes the largest technology company in the world.4) Helping the Open Society Foundations establish the Mayors Migration Council, including helping to form policies for mayors across the world and writing their op-eds, talking points and engaging with senior diplomats, world leaders and others.5) Writing MAP's Crisis Management Policy and briefing it's Senior Leadership Team, and working directly with its trustees and board on security and resilience efforts. I'm December 2020, a chapter he wrote for the Western Hemisphere Drug Commission was presented to the US foreign affairs committee around national security. He has certifications in business continuity, crisis management, and is a certified AI Security risk manager and has completed two Crossfit Opens and a hyrox.He serves on Crisis Group's Ambassadorial Council.
