About James Maertens
My name is James Maertens and I am from Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Ever since I was a child, I have always been interested in computers and how they work, which is why I chose computer science. Some things I enjoy doing are working out, hiking anywhere I can, and occasionally playing video games.One of the organizations I am apart of on campus is the South Dakota Mines Health and Fitness Club. I joined this club because I have a love of fitness, and I wanted to connect with other people who have the same interest. Another organization I am apart of is Alpha Pi Tau of Chi Psi Fraternity. I am a founding member of this organization, and I have sat on the executive board as the Recruitment Chair for two terms, and I am the current Internal Vice President. I am also the Scholar Chair for this organization, meaning I am in charge of organizing study hours throughout the week, so the members have a nice place to get work done.
