Recognised within the Environment Agency for strong analytical skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel; developing innovative tools and efficient ways of working to improve data analysis and reporting throughout the business. As such I have been recruited into the Program Analyst role for ncpms (National Capital Programme Management Service); monitoring and reporting on our multi-million pound projects,ensuring the robustness and timeliness of our data supplied to our external partners and Government. In the first six months in my new role I developed a Project Analysis Tool (PAT), which has received very positive feedback from management, and is now being rolled out nationally. This has required me travel the country presenting the tool, with the aim of significantly saving time and cost to the business, while also improving data quality.

Use knowledge and experience to identify areas of concern and disseminate Flood Warnings in a fast paced and highly pressurised environment.Key achievements- Initiated early sounding of the sirens at Chiswell, Portland, warning the community of the imminent danger to life from extreme waves, allowing people in the vicinity to take the necessary action to protect themselves.- Developed Excel tools to analyse rainfall that have been essential for reporting on ‘high public interest’ flooding events, that has been recognised as best practice throughout the Agency.

Leading on modelling, analysing, and reporting of hydrological statistics within the South West to ensure the sustainable management of water resources. Key achievements- Analysing and reporting of hydrological data to all levels of the Environment Agency and external partners through our Water Situation Reports and Drought Reports.- Created surface water models and experience in groundwater models to assist in Water Framework Directive commitments, licensing, and discharge permits.- Spotting and identifying trends and anomalies within hydrological data, ensuring any licensing of water does not adversely impact rivers and associated environments.- Working with internal and external partners to improve compliance of abstraction licences.- Developed Macros in Visual Basic, and implemented ways of working, improving data storage, reporting accuracy and saving significant time and cost for the business.
